I am a writer, editor, teacher, and journalist who has written for The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Atlantic, Longreads, River Teeth, Literary Hub, The Rumpus, Departures, Saveur, and others. My essays, features, and creative nonfiction cover the subjects of arts & culture, history, travel, food, and family, and I’ve also written about sports, health, and politics. I hold an M.S. from the Columbia Journalism School and a B.A. in English from the University of Pennsylvania. In 2018, I was one of the winners of the Poets & Writers Amy Award for poetry.
I am currently a teaching fellow at Columbia University as part of the M.F.A. program in nonfiction there. At Columbia, I previously worked as the online managing editor for the literary magazine Columbia Journal and taught an on-campus creative writing workshop for military veterans. Before beginning the M.F.A. program, I worked as a magazine and digital editor at Time Inc.
