I am a freelance journalist, essayist, and editor whose writing has appeared in the New York Times, the Atlantic, the Believer, Longreads, Inside Climate News, and Literary Hub, among others. My current work focuses on climate change, politics, and the environment, and I’ve also written about arts & culture, history, and public health. I am a regular contributor to Warming Trends, Inside Climate News’ column about climate and culture.
In 2018, I was one of the winners of the Poets & Writers Amy Award for poetry. I hold an M.F.A. in creative writing and an M.S. in journalism from Columbia University, and I’ve taught writing and journalism at Columbia, Blue Stoop, and Catapult. I also edit long-form narrative nonfiction stories for the Sunday Long Read.
